Healthcare
Our five medical plans offer coverage for employees, eligible dependents and domestic partners. One of the medical plans has no employee premiums!
Medical plans cover preventative care, inpatient and outpatient care, emergency room care and emergency transportation, urgent care, office visits, prescription drugs, physical therapy, diagnostic tests, home healthcare, rehabilitation services, mental health and hospice services.
Coverage is available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Comprehensive dental and vision coverage for employees and eligible dependents and domestic partners.

A Health Savings Account (HSA) can be used to pay for qualified medical expenses.
Employees may make pre-tax contributions to their HSA, up to the annual IRS maximum. ALEC contributes up to $2,000 per year to your HSA.
Healthcare FSA
A flexible spending account allows you the opportunity to contribute on a pre-tax basis for qualified medical expenses. You may contribute up to the annual IRS maximum.
Dependent Care FSA
You may set aside up to the annual IRS maximum for reimbursement of eligible childcare and elder care expenses.
Critical illness insurance provides employees with the extra money needed to help cover the increased expenses faced when suffering a critical illness. Employees pay for the cost of this benefit.
Accident insurance provides employees with the extra money needed to help cover the increased expenses faced when suffering an injury due to an accident. Employees pay for the cost of this benefit.
Employees may purchase additional benefits to help pay for hospital care.
Leave of Absence
If an employee becomes ill or suffers an injury that prevents them from working, disability insurance replaces a portion of their income for a defined maximum time period. Short and long-term disability plans are available at no cost to employees.
We provide employees with paid time off that can be used for any reason.
FMLA is available to eligible employees who need to take time off of work due to a serious health condition of the employee or a covered family member, the birth of a child or placement of a child for adoption or foster care and to bond with that child, a qualifying exigency arising and the need to care for a covered service member under specific circumstances. FMLA provides up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave, if eligible, to care for your family or yourself for specified family and / or medical conditions.
You may be eligible to receive up to 30 days of unpaid leave for compelling personal reasons.
Insurance
ALEC offers life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance at no cost to employees and dependents. Employees have the option to purchase supplemental employee and dependent life insurance.
Time Off
ALEC offers three weeks of paid time off (PTO) per year for new employees (prorated first year based on the date of hire). PTO is accrued each pay period. Employees receive additional PTO based on years of service.
PTO is available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Employees receive 10+ holidays each year. Floating holidays may also be awarded. Holidays and floating holidays are determined each year.
Could include volunteer time if we decide to open this up to two hours of paid volunteer time per year.
Incentives and Bonuses
We believe that all ALEC employees contribute to the organization’s success. Various incentive programs are offered to employees, based on their role. Bonus programs are offered, ensuring that employees not participating in an incentive program are eligible for a bonus, based on company performance.
Financial Well-Being
ALEC offers a generous dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match up to 5% of employee deferrals. The plan has both roth and pre-tax options.

Work Life Programs
Our EAP offers therapy sessions and concierge resources.
Our commuter benefit program allows employees who commute by public transit to pay for transit expenses with money deducted from their paycheck pre-tax.
Employees may tailor their clothing choices based on the work they perform and the day-to-day demands of their role.
Recognition
Taking Care of the Employee is one of ALEC’s Keys to Success. We demonstrate this in many ways, one being to recognize employees for their hard work. Employees enjoy company events and food days.
Employees take advantage of the intranet site to recognize other employees for their hard work.
Department Employees of the Quarter, The More Award, Employee of the Year and the President’s Award are examples of formal recognition for a job well done. Employees selected for these awards receive a monetary award.
